I haven't found a topic dedicated to reporting problems with CD-Rom games and I figured it would be a good idea to create one, since people tend to create separate threads for each single game.

Just to keep things organized, a name of he game should be given, along with a description of the problem - detailed if possible. Plus, a version of the emulator.

It's just a suggestion, though. If you feel a new user is in no place to create such a thread, please rename it with the title of the game I have a problem with. Ok, moving on.

I'm trying to run Dragonball Z - Idainaru Son Gokuu Densetsu [バンダイ, ドラゴンボールZ 偉大なる孫悟空伝説], and while my other games boot fine, some of them displaying minor glitches in the graphics, this game freezes on the BanDai logo.

It's an original disc, of course, and it works fine on the console. On MagicEngine 1.1.3 however, the emulator stops spinning the CD once the BanDai logo loads. Has anyone else had this problem?

Cool Follow these steps :

#1 Check and make sure your disc is clean and not scratched.
Clean your CD-ROM drive with a lens cleaner. TG-16/PC Engine
discs are very old now so it is possible that it is dirty or scratched.

#2 Try my bios pack :

TG-16/PC Engine bios

#3 Create a back up of the game as a ISO and try mounting it
with Daemon Tools & see if you have the same problem.

#4 Scan for viruses, malware, addware ,spyware or any bugs
and make sure your computer is clean from all threats.

#5 Or wait for a new version of ME

#6 Turbo Duo consoles can be found on E-bay dirt cheap.

I'm having problems with Rondo on ME 1.1.3.

For some reason if I try use any Super CD-ROMē System Card Ver. 3.00 (I tried Japanese Ver. 3.00 and US 3.01), it's goes crazy in the menus by flickering through the options at lightning speed, so I can't control it in anyway. All I can do is just hit a button and hope that it lands on the right choice. It seems to work fine on the interal Magic System 3.0 choice, but I would prefer the actual card. As you may know, Rondo requires the Ver. 3.00 card for it to function, or else you'll just play the silly "STAGE X" game, but the STAGE X seems to work good on atleast a Japanese CD-ROM System Ver. 1.00 card.

This problem wasn't in ME 1.0.0 PR 10, it worked fine with the actual card on that version.

EDIT: Ah, yes, and I'm using an image of Rondo mounted on Daemon Tools 4.30.1 Lite, and Direct X mode on ME.

There are a lot of terrible Rips of this game floating around the internet.

An also a lot of terrible boot leg copies of this game floating around for sale
on the internet that either don't work or are bad TOC's.

If you have the original game there shouldn't be a problem.
( MagicEngine.com prefers you have the original).

Cool Here is a tool to check your TOC to see if you have the original
or not & also repair bad ISO's.

TocFixer v1.01

Cool I assume you are referring to Akumajou Dracula X: Chi no Rondo.

Yes, I do have an original. Made an image from the copy of a guy I know after I got tired of the age old idiotic .iso + separate mp3 audio rips. And yes, I am refering to that game.

But what I said earlier seems to be irrelevant now since I fixed the issue somehow. I don't know did the Direct X mode bug or something at first, but I'm guessing it resolved after I switched to OpenGL, since it worked with it, and then back to Direct X. I started a new game, played for a while, quit + saved, switched back to Direct X, and puff, no spastic menus anymore. Weird.

I haven't checked this forum in ages, but thanks to the BIOS package Koolkat posted, I got Dragonball Z - Idainaru Son Gokuu Densetsu to work.

So, if anyone who owns this game couldn't get further than the BanDai logo, get the bios package and you're all set. The game loads and works just fine off the original CD in my CD-Rom drive. Thanks for the help, Koolkat.
