The lack of translated RPGs was probably the main reason why the US market never really took off. They aren't many of them, and the few ones available were not the best Japan had to offer.

The Legend of Heroes 1 (from the large Dragon Slayer 'metaseries') was translated in English, but the second episode wasn't. No Dragon Knight in English either. You could try the following titles:

Double Dungeons (TurboChip)
Dungeon Master (SCD)
Exile (CD)
Exile 2 (SCD)
Might & Magic 3 (SCD)
Order of the Griffon (TurboChip)

and that's pretty much all Confused

Don't forget, Xak III-The Eternal Reccurence (another true action/RPG) is now in English via patch which can be obtained here: http://home.earthlink.net/~nlivaditis/xakiii/index.html Razz. Ys 4 may be hacked one day far away as well... So, be hopeful Smile.

Oops, indeed ^^

This is precisely the kind of RPG that I think has been lacking in English... until now! Good work on this one Smile

Mmm, well... It's certainly safe, as long as:

1. the seller has a good reputation.
2. he allows secure online payments, like Paypal.

Any other situation is up to your intuition Wink

you forgot Dungeon Explorer 1 and 2. Also depending on your meaning of RPGs Dynastic Hero can also be considered one.

But then again, the Dungeon Explorer games have a very small dose of RPG elements. By this standard even Shape Shifter could be considered an RPG Wink Personally, I consider the Dungeon Explorer games as action/RPG, perhaps even arcade/RPG games, not quite what wizardry ( the original poster ) wanted to know.

So there are RPG games : Where you play the role of the main character ( that you can most of the time name ) : combat is most of the time turn-based, and the story is the major driving force behind the game. What I want in an RPG. Then we have adventure games......

This is one of my favourite Duo RPGs!!! It has a few bugs, but still...it's a very "true" RPG (although I love "action-RPGs too - Ys!!!!!!) and it has a very creepy feel - ah, I'm going to go play it now!
