I've written an example program that shows how to get the VDC to output a somewhat interlaced display. It looks great on a monitor, but the effect won't work in an emulator, of course:

The program is written in assembly language, but I think it could adapted for HuC users, for showing things like a title screen, text, and other hi-res images. The program only uses several 2-color images that are 512x448, but with smaller pictures or on a SuperGrafx you could go up to 16 colors or more. The only real limitation is the amount of VRAM needed.
