Finally realized this board was here... Smile

Here are some "bugs" I noticed on some CD games. Please confirm, or deny. It could in some cases just be that my discs are bad so...

I tried in ME 98 and 99beta5.

Ninja Action Kaze Kiri: This must be a ME bug, because Yame plays my disc perfectly. The bug is that sound effects stop when you do a sword slash, and don't come back till the next level.

Sapphire shooter: I think some sound/music is missing at cut scenes where the girls are "talking." BTW, sound effects only work right in 99b5, not 98, as I just realized. Smile

Ys Book 1 and 2: I get no sound once the game starts at the boat dock. Oddly, Yame plays music and so... I dunno. Maybe my CD is just a little bad?

Shububinman 3: I think some sound effects are not played or are played VERY quietly. Even when you balance the CD/FX volume in 99b5. For example, when you hold the button then release for a power shot, the character yells something, but it seems almost too quiet to hear.

Thanks, and apologies to David for the emails, I should've posted here instead.

Are you using Magic System? Many CDs don't play all the sounds/musics when using it. ^^;; Because as far as I remember there's no problem with Ys.

Not really a bug, this is because of the way the sound is mixed in MagicEngine, I can't play it louder with the current sound core.

No problem. Smile

Thanks!

Yes, using the real system card image fixes my sound problems as noted. I didn't realize the magic system emulation was incomplete.

I'm new to PCE CD games, so this is very cool. I own a Turbo-Express, for many years, but never the CD system. Dracula X and Kaze Kiri are SOOOO good! =) I plan to register ME sometime this week, I can't deal with save/loading every 5 minutes anymore...

No, this is the correct behaviour of the game.
