Yes, that's the font path bug... OK, just try with PR 3 and try to run a CD game, then post the log file.

This is the Gate of Thunder 4-in-1 pack-in CD that comes with the Turbo Duo. I tried all of the disk speed settings. I also tested this exact disc on the PC version of MagicEngine and it works fine.

Code:
vol='Audio CD' ref=-103 device=disk2
cd disk speed = 4234
disk mounted: disk2
app: menu
read cd 3590[1] on 'disk2' failed: Input/output error
cd error: cmd=28

Are you using OS X 10.5.1 though? The problems we are having seem to be related to Leopard.

Sorry, I assumed that was understood, else I wouldn't have responded Wink

But yes-- I'm using 10.5.1 on PPC.

Ahhh... a PPC machine. Maybe that's the key. I'm running it on an intel Mac mini. Can I ask what Turbo Duo game you are testing?

I don't think it's a OS X 10.5 issue, I remember someone reporting me a similar problem with PR 2 on Tiger... And you said your CD worked before so it's probably not a real I/O error, I will check my CD code and see if I can add more log messages and error detections.

I tested Dracula X, Ys Book 1 and 2, Ys 3, and Gradius II. I would have tried more but those worked fine so I didn't bother.

ok,

I should have posted this a while ago, but I've really been busy with things (a new baby!)

The fullscreen native resolution setting I requested be added works, and looks great too, but-- it has some problems.

If ME is set to open in the fullscreen native res, the screen stays black and the GUI does not work, and in turn nothing works. Cmd-Q to exit.

Now if I open ME in a window and switch that window to the fullscreen native res mode, it works, but I have to change it back to window setting or else ME will do the first error over again (upon quit and restart).

There seems to be some kind of initialization bug on finding the native resolution of the monitor when ME is set to use that mode.

Ah, interesting info. I got a few report about this black screen problem but so far I didn't have many details. So this happen only with the new fullscreen resolution, not with 'desktop' and '640x480'?

640x480 - screen turns black (mouse clicks do nothing), Cmd-F to get back to windowed mode, right click to bring up menu. Works fine, as long as it's in windowed mode.

Desktop - Works fine, does nothing out of the ordinary.

It seems that 640x480 mode suffers from the same issues as the other mode my monitor supports (1440x900).

I tried something, may be this will fix the problem.

Here's a new version.

Let me know if this makes any difference.

I just got a Macbook Air and wanted to set up MagicEngine. At first it launched no problem. I hit full screen and the screen went back with just a mouse.

I can press Command+Q to quit but i cant use Command-F or anything else i can see to get out of this mode. i tried to delete the Prefs but that did nothing.

It's a MB Air
Leopard 10.5.2
2 GB Ram
80 GB HD
1.8 GHz Core 2 Duo

I tried 2, 3 and 4 no dice.

any options?

Yes, delete the pce.ini file in this directory : "~/Library/ApplicationSupport/MagicEngine/Config/".

Sorry about this problem, I'm working on it but I can't reproduce the problem on my Mac so it's harder to fix. (^^;
