Hi, folks. Today, I felt like hacking Neutopia II, just for the fun of it. What I came out with was an easy way to view all the screens/levels of the game, so I figured I'd put together a complete map for you all.

You can download the full-sized image here: http://www.disgruntleddesigner.com/chrisc/data/NeutopiaII_Overworld.rar
962KB .RAR Archived PNG image.
WARNING! The image itself is 4096x2944 pixels large!

Underground and labyrinth maps may come later...

Awesome, thanks a lot.

If you ever feel like hacking Neutopia 1 as well and putting together a similar map that'd be fine by me. Wink

Here are the rest of the maps for Neutopia II, as far as I know:
Houses:
Caves &c:

Labyrinths 1:
Labyrinths 2:

And they can be downloaded from the links below. *BIG FILES & IMAGES, once again!*

http://www.disgruntleddesigner.com/chrisc/data/NeutopiaII_CavesHouses.rar
http://www.disgruntleddesigner.com/chrisc/data/NeutopiaII_Labyrinths.rar

I'll try to hack Neutopia and see what I can get.

Wow, this is awesome! And yes, if you feel like it, doing the same for the first game would rule! And, this also gets me thinking, since Neutopia 3 is supposed to be much bigger then the 2nd game(I think Nod said around 3 times as big??), then, maybe we should think about a map system for the overworld.

Nope. I didn't locate the map data, just the in-game position values.
There are sadly not enough people making support software (tile editors, trackers, map editors...) for the good ol' PCE.

(and I, um... am not one of them either.)

(Sorry for the bump, but I guess I ought to do this since I've added Neutopia I maps.)

Okay, so here are the maps for Neutopia 1!
The four spheres:

The dungeons and houses:

I didn't add the houses from the rest of the spheres, because I don't think the houses are really relevant to navigating around the worlds, anyway.

So here are the large image files for download:
http://www.disgruntleddesigner.com/chrisc/data/Neutopia1_Overworlds.rar
http://www.disgruntleddesigner.com/chrisc/data/Neutopia1_Dungeons.rar

And I have some unfortunate information: All of these maps have 8 lines of graphics missing from the bottom of each screen in the game (meaning some walls and other graphics don't line up), due to the fact that MagicEngine doesn't display all 240 lines in any PCE game.
This problem is discussed in this post, and now you can see it's not just some theoretical perfectionist gripe but rather a deficiency that has proven to cause real-world problems.

Replies regarding the resolution problem should be made in the forum topic that I just linked to, not here, just to keep it all on topic.

Very interesting...that overworld map for N2 is pretty large. The scary part is that individual maps for N3 can be larger than that. That map is 256x184 16x16 pixel tiles in size (512x368 tiles for you purist freaks). The maps in N3 can be up to 256x256 16x16 pixel tiles in size, and there are many regions of this size. That should give you an indication as to the grand scope of N3. Very Happy

Good stuff chris and I hope this doesn't look like a thread hijack attempt. Very Happy

wow! I can't believe it.... I never saw your maps and they're almost exactly the same as mine. I thought there were none in existance and I spent forever on them. I tried to post mine on GameFAQ's but I kept getting unannoted given back as a response every time I tried uploading them. Finally after help from Necstasy I uploaded them to the Video Game Atlas.
