Hi all,

I'm hoping that someone out there can help me. I recently tried to play some TG16 games with ME and could not get sound no matter what setting I changed in ME. I had no issues with sound from any other application including Finder. Other emulators played the game sound, youtube videos had sound, and I have system sounds. No sound from ME.

I looked in the log file and see this:

[SOUND INIT]
device id = 269 name = 'Built-in Input' ('AppleHDAEngineInput:8,0,1,1:2')
device id = 271 name = 'Built-in Output' ('AppleHDAEngineOutput:8,0,1,2:0')
device id = 275 name = 'Digi CoreAudio Device' ('DigidesignCoreAudio10')
device id = 258 name = 'MOTU Traveler' ('com_motu_driver_FWA_Engine:000001f545')
default output device id = 258
Samping rate = 44100
Buffer byte count = 5888
*** AudioDeviceGetProperty failed to set the buffer byte count!

44100 mSampleRate
lpcm mFormatID
32 mBytesPerPacket
1 mFramesPerPacket
32 mBytesPerFrame
8 mChannelsPerFrame
32 mBitsPerChannel

Basically my FW interface (258, MOTU Traveler) is my device and the buffer setting is incorrect or cannot be set.

Any suggestions? Restarting does not seem to help.

Thanks guys!

So according to David the problem is that I'm using an audio interface with 8 channels. ME is only expecting a max of 6 so it sets the buffer wrong and I get no sound. The Built-in sound card on my Mac Mini works just fine.
