I would imagine that a little thing called AN ACTUAL LIFE has something to do with the delay. Plus, programing a superior program such as Magic Engine takes a lot of time and dedication. I would rather wait longer for a full featured kick-ass version!
Keep up the good work David & Cédric! _________________ "Believe nothing, no matter where you read it, or who said it, no matter if I have said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and your common sense." Buddha |

What ever you brown nosing nut licker. Even if you only work on a program for two hours a week, it doesn't take a year to code something. |

Tell ya what... why don't you make the damn emulator to perfection, and then release the emulator in all its perfection... Save David and Cedric their time.... oh wait... that's right, you are not an programmer... or at least not a programmer that can make an emulator for the PC Engine/Turbo Duo... so stfu!
David; Cedric, keep working, we all will await version 1.0.
Thank you for your continued effort in this.
Well all of us with the exception of some morons...

I second that. I don't want to say : " damn! I can't run the new ME!!!!". I prefer the : " oh boy! this new ME core is great!! " aproach....
But then again, maybe this attitude is only for a select few?

|
|
I too would love to see Magic Engine implement some of the Filters out there such as:
2xSaI
Super2xSaI
SuperEagle
Scale2x
I think it would be just another great feature to this magnificent program. Are there any plans for any of these in the near future David? |

There might be a legal problem in implementing open-source scalers in a commercial emulator. Anyway, the best (by far) scaler in existence today is Maxim Stepin's hq2x filter, which is already implemented in ScummVM and perhaps Spectaculator soon. Maybe David could contact Maxim and work out a legal solution. |

AGREED
The ZSNES Emulator allows for use of the Hq3x Filter and it looks amazing on my TV using TVout!
It would be interesting to see how the Turbo Grafx would look using this same filter..
Hope David has got something up his sleeve |

MorphGear uses what looks like an Eagle mode. Worth a look. |

Then what about a plugin system for these filters? Keep the license as it is, and if we so choose to hunt down the necessary files? Not quite sure how this works. |

I hate talking about something I haven't looked into, so forgive my ignorance :
ePSXe, 1964, (etc)... use what I think is a proprietary format plugin system. I'm not clear on how, say, zSNES and SNES9x work with their graphic filters, but I didn't think they were "plugins" in the same sense, and they're open source (earlier post said something about the licensing)?.
Maybe ME could just check the local directory (or a specified one, say, /plugins or /filters) for the availability of certain files. Obviously not distributed with ME though.
I have never paid any attention to the plugin/filtering systems, so if I sound like I'm talking out my backside... I am.
Just a thought though, I'd hear what people have to say who are familiar with this. |

It's cool that people are talking about the idea of adding filters, as I've been hoping that some sort of graphical filter would be added to Magic Engine. What about the authors of Magic Engine though? Are they in favor of adding graphical filters? If so, would they use a pre existing one, or do one from scratch? |
