OK I did some more changes, re-download PR 3 (it's a new one) and let me know how well/bad it works... Pray

Got my SideWinder GamePad USB partially working: only left and up directions are working. Buttons seem fine tho.

Something I forgot to configure maybe ?

Same here:

Code:

[INPUT INIT]
opening direct input DLL... OK
init direct input... OK
scanning gamepad device(s)...
  - gamepad  0 : SideWinder Game Pad USB version 1.0 (buttons=10, axes=2, povs=0)
found 1 gamepad(s)

[GAMEPAD STATS]
gamepad 0 stats:
status: 0000
poll errors: 8007000c 0 0 0
poll: failed=0 success=8189
axes (2):
  - 0: min=-1000 max=1000 [7088 (381 / 720)]
  - 1: min=-1000 max=0 [8112 (77 / 0)]
povs (0):
buttons (10):
  - 0: off=7751 on=438 bitmask=80
  - 1: off=8077 on=112 bitmask=80
  - 2: off=8189 on=0 bitmask=00
  - 3: off=8173 on=16 bitmask=80
  - 4: off=8189 on=0 bitmask=00
  - 5: off=8189 on=0 bitmask=00
  - 6: off=8153 on=36 bitmask=80
  - 7: off=8052 on=137 bitmask=80
  - 8: off=8189 on=0 bitmask=00
  - 9: off=8134 on=55 bitmask=80

All buttons are working now but not the directions.
Only left seemed to work properly.
Up did not respond at all.
Right and down responded only the first time I pressed them.

The game I used for testing was PC Genjin 2.

A bit overloaded... Confused
Wait a little bit, and try again (without hammering the site Mr. Green)

Works a treat here with my PSX pad and SmartJoy USB adapter. But very occasionally, the directional pad gets 'sticky' for a microsecond -- that is, one direction (can be any one) stops responding while the others still work. Could be related with the previous reports... Question

My SmartJoy is gamepad 1.

Code:
[INPUT INIT]
opening direct input DLL... OK
init direct input... OK
scanning gamepad device(s)...
  - gamepad  0 : Saitek Cyborg 3D Stick USB (buttons=14, axes=3, povs=1)

found 2 gamepad(s)

Finaly some results!

Looks like MagicEngine can read the gamepad state now, no more errors this side... ok... calibration is a different problem but much easier to deal with.

Someone mentionned that the gamepad was working when navigating in the menu but not in the game, does this happens to everyone?

No comprendo, je ne comprend pô, i dont undestand... Anxious

I have 2 pads :
Gamepad 0 = PC Propad 6, connected via my soundblaster card (NO USB)
Works fine with

[GAMEPAD STATS]
gamepad 0 stats:
status: 0000
poll errors: 8007000c 0 0 0
poll: failed=0 success=1498
axes (2):
- 0: min=-5 max=11 [1498 (0 / 0)]
- 1: min=-16 max=1 [1498 (0 / 0)]
povs (0):
buttons (6):
- 0: off=1498 on=0 bitmask=00
- 1: off=1498 on=0 bitmask=00
- 2: off=1498 on=0 bitmask=00
- 3: off=1498 on=0 bitmask=00
- 4: off=1498 on=0 bitmask=00
- 5: off=1498 on=0 bitmask=00

Ok ok (but it's not easy to change the default setting because i have to memorize what is bouton 0, bouton 1, bouton 2..etc on my gamepad, for that i have to have a look at the windows control panel then return back to ME).

I also have a Gamecube pad connected via USB Connector

[GAMEPAD STATS]
gamepad 1 stats:
status: 0000
poll errors: 8007000c 0 0 0
poll: failed=0 success=1498
axes (4):
- 0: min=-11 max=1 [1498 (0 / 0)]
- 1: min=-10 max=0 [1498 (0 / 0)]
- 2: min=-11 max=1 [1498 (0 / 0)]
- 3: min=268435456 max=-268435456 [0 (0 / 0)]
povs (1):
- 0: min=-1 max=-1 [1498 (0 / 0 / 0 / 0)]
buttons (8 ):
- 0: off=1498 on=0 bitmask=00
- 1: off=1498 on=0 bitmask=00
- 2: off=1498 on=0 bitmask=00
- 3: off=1498 on=0 bitmask=00
- 4: off=1498 on=0 bitmask=00
- 5: off=1498 on=0 bitmask=00
- 6: off=1498 on=0 bitmask=00
- 7: off=1498 on=0 bitmask=00

It gives me that :

And i'm just like a rooster in front of a knife... Think d'oh!

Just for info here is the panel control for the Gamecube pad under windows

Hope it will help.

Yeah, it looks like the main ME site is not working right now...
So I guess I can't test the new version just yet.

If you're talking about the PR3 that was released this morning, don't bother. It doesn't work with controllers correctly either. I went out and bought a PSX to USB adapter and it doesn't workm as well.

I am using JoyToKey and it is great. I am able to use my gamepad with it. You can get it here. http://hp.vector.co.jp/authors/VA016823/

It sure does work here, and it could work for others as well. The more people can send feedback, the quicker the issue will be resolved. Comments like "don't bother" won't certainly get us anywhere.
