Sorry if this topic has already been asked but...
I use a laptop and I was thinking it would be cool to use a USB gamepad for magic engine and just wondered if anyone knew of the best one to get. _________________ cuttin my eyeballs out and usin em as click clacks pluggin the orbital sockets back up with grandma's bric a brac makin a track got halitosis psychosis ate a tic tac f**k it i'm braindead from the daily doses of

Gravis Gamepad Pro is a nice alternative to the Sidewinder. _________________ Proud owner of a Dreamcast, Saturn, Turbo Duo and a registered version of ME since 2002. |

I like the Interact AxisPad. It looks just like a playstation2 controller, and has both directional pad and dual analog joysticks. I have had mine for over 2 years, and never had a single problem out of it. _________________ "Believe nothing, no matter where you read it, or who said it, no matter if I have said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and your common sense." The sidewinders is ok, the buttons are great but the D-pad sucks. It doesn't feel right, if you have one you'll know what I mean. I have a PSX to USB converter and it is awesome. Works excellent, no drivers needed. http://secure.fragism.com/store/product_info.php/products_id/40 There's another one for $15.99 called EMS USB2 which I don't have, I might buy it, it allows for two controllers at once. |

I was just reading through this thread and thought I'd put in my 2 cents worth.
I have a Gravis Gamepad Pro (USB/10 Buttons)
and Windows98 sees the controler right away (Plug n' Play)
You might have to calibrate the d-pad a few times before it works the way you want it to
(which can be setup easily through Start -> Control Panel -> Game Controls)
For the price and the functionality, it's a good mid-range controler. |
