Are your video card drivers up to date? You might also want to update your sound card drivers.
EDIT: Also, do you have any other programs running? |

This is probably the fullscreen bug. Go in the pce.ini file and disable the 'fullscreen' option, the lastest preview crash when you start it with fullscreen enabled. It will be fixed in the next version.

Version one did not have this problem, I never been able to get versionfour to open up.
It has to be something that was changed between version1 & 4
